• Name: Firmware update V1.70 (#2533) for EF-X T Speed Booster® ULTRA 0.71x/ Smart Adapter^TM
• Release date: 18 August 2026
• Benefits and improvements: 
  • Fixed issue where the camera may sometimes not recognize that a Fujifilm teleconverter has been added or removed but displayed the previous maximum aperture.
  • Corrected SP designation of some Tamron lenses in EXIF, such as Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 VC USD A005.
  • PDAF performance improvement, especially for video AF and AF-C. Note that Metabones learns about your lens and your usage pattern as you use your lens normally and improves performance over time. Turn off the camera to let Metabones save what it has learned in its memory.
  • Mark II only: additional PDAF improvement with selected lenses, by additional lens profile data that is specifically tailored for each lens (TruePDAF Technology™). Visit our web site for a list of supported lenses. The LED turns pinkish white to indicate that your lens is supported. A white LED indicates that no matching lens profile is found but it will still operate at a slightly lower level of performance.
  • Fixed issue with occasionally inaccurate focal length in EXIF when certain zoom lenses are used.

  • Improved startup/shutdown stability.
  • Fixed iris cannot go beyond T18 (Speed Booster) or T26 (Smart Adapter) when 1.5x built-in extender of Canon CN10x25 (25-250mm) cinema lens is engaged when minimum should have been T22 and T32 respectively.
  • Maximum aperture is now displayed as F4 instead of F4.2 with EF70-200mm f/4L IS II USM.
  • Fixed issue with computer not going to sleep while Metabones App is left open.

  • Add support for Canon CN10x25 CINE-SERVO lens (25-250mm with built-in teleconverter). Please be advised that an external DC power source must be connected to the lens. Please turn off the camera before engaging or disengaging the built-in 1.5x teleconverter. 
  • Fixed issue with F-stop being displayed for Canon Cinema EOS CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS S lens despite "Use cinema lens" option is enabled in Metabones App and T stop display is chosen on camera.
  • New Metabones App option to choose between optical image stabilization (IS/OS/VC) and in-body image stabilization (IBIS).
  • Fixed a rare issue where autofocus may be disabled.
  • Fixed defects associated with the use of cinema lenses such as Sigma 18-35mm T2 CINE.

  • Fixed: "Park focus when camera is turned off" option in Metabones App is ignored.
  • Fixed compatibility issue with Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD (Model F045).
  • Fixed VC with Tamron 18-270/3.5-6.3 VC (B003), Tamron 28-200/3.5-6.3 VC (A20) and Tamron 17-50/2.8 VC (B005) (Both the VC switch on the lens and the IS MODE setting on the camera need to be ON)

• Benefits and improvements: 
  • IBIS now works with any lens including long telephotos and high-ratio zooms.
  • Fixed: with some Canon TS-E lenses, aperture cannot return to wide-open after metering.
  • Fixed: chromatic aberration correction is sometimes not completely turned off for some zoom lenses.
  • Add support for Laowa 100mm f/2.8 Micro.
  • Fixed: when the AF/MF switches of certain Sigma lenses are set to the MF position, focus distance should not move when the camera is turned on.
  • Fixed issue where the IS/OS/VC ON/OFF switches of some OIS lenses do not change IS MODE of the camera.
  • Fixed lens firmware version in EXIF lens name.
  • After connecting USB the LED will shine a bright pink glow to request the user to run Metabones App.

  • Support iris display in T-stops with cinema lenses. (The cinema lens has to support electronically transmitting iris position.)
