v75 is the final firmware release for the discontinued EF-E Mark IV (MB_EF-E-BM4 / MB_EF-E-BT4) and EF-E Speed Booster ULTRA Mark I (MB_SPEF-E-BM2 / MB_SPEF-E-BT2)

You may still download the same Metabones App below to upgrade the firmware of your Mark IV or ULTRA Mark I to v75. You have the old product if it does NOT have any slide switch marked IBIS/ON on the side.

LEGACY PRODUCTS

Legacy products made in 2014 or before have the old METABONES logo, in all UPPERCASE. They are NOT equipped with USB ports. Firmware update is by factory service only. Please email us to either send in your Smart Adapter or Speed Booster for firmware upgrade to v68, or inquire about our hardware upgrade pricing to the current Mark V. - Fixed issue with getting stuck in manual focus if shutter is tripped while a Tamron lens is still calibrating the focus range.
- AF illuminator is now disabled for many physically large lenses which would have blocked the camera's AF illumination light anyway.
- Enhanced phase-detection autofocus in video mode. Check 'Enable continuous video AF, a.k.a. "Advanced" mode' in Metabones App to activate.

- When the Canon Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 is used with Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS "Nano" USM, the speed of digital zoom now corresponds to the pressure applied to the W-T slider switch.
- Fixed OLED display corruption with EF-E eND Smart Adapter.
- Add support for Canon CN10x25 CINE-SERVO lens (25-250mm with built-in teleconverter). Please be advised that an external DC power source must be connected to the lens. Please turn off the camera before engaging or disengaging the built-in 1.5x teleconverter.
- V75 is the final firmware release for the discontinued EF-E Mark IV (MB_EF-E-BM4/ MB_EF-E-BT4) and EF-E Speed Booster ULTRA Mark I(MB_SPEF-E-BM2/MB_SPEF-E-BT2).

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Operating System: macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra or newer.

A micro-USB cable is required to connect the Smart Adapter^TM or Speed Booster® to the computer.

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

Important notes:

When performing the firmware update, please don't disconnect the USB cable, otherwise, the adapter may become inoperable due to the sudden power shutdown
Don't connect the adapter to any cameara and lens when performaing the firmware update.

How to download the firmware updater:

Make sure that you are logged on as a user with administrative rights.
At the bottom of the page, read the disclaimer and agree to the terms and conditions by clicking on the checkbox. Then, click on the Download button.
The download of the [MetabonesApp.dmg] file will start.
Save the file to the desktop of your computer (recommended).

RUN THE SOFTWARE

Once the file has been downloaded successfully, you're ready to upgrade the Firmware update for the Smart Adapter^TM/ Speed Booster^®.

STEP 1: START UP THE Metabones App

Close all currently running programs on your computer.
Double-click the [MetabonesApp.dmg] file you downloaded to start up the Metabones App.
Connect your the Smart Adapter^TM MARK IV to the computer by using the USB-MicroUSB cable.
Then, follow the instructions in the Metabones App to update the firmware.
